Brand Identity and Badging Internship

My internship at Stellantis, formally Fiat Chrysler, was an amazing experience to work on my logo making/badging as well as working with a design team. I worked directly under the badging team for some assignments but also worked with a student team of other interns to create concept luxury cars for 10 years in the future, one for Jeep Wagoneer and one for Ram. Each team had designers for interior design, exterior design, UI/UX, Materials/Colors, and Brand Identity/Badging. I was the only intern on both teams.
For the Jeep team, we created a vehicle named Sojourn with three main packages, Redwood, Sandia, and Astral. We wanted to focus on the journey aspect of Jeep. For type inspiration, I looked at vintage national park signs across the country and took shapes and letter forms from that.
The Ram team focused on hidden beauty in features around the vehicles. Due to the toughness of Ram trucks, but looking at the beauty within, I created the brand around the idea of geode rocks.
One of my assignments was to look into creating a new logo mark for Ram Electric which was coming out a few months after my internship. They wanted something similar to what they had but sleeker and still identifiable as a separate brand.
My last assignment was a Jeep Buzz Model, a wrapping for a jeep for events. My prompt was looking at the Pacific Coast Highway, specifically an area in California, because of the distance the electric Jeep can go without charging. I had one week to complete this assignment from research to finals.
At the midterm point and the end of my internship, I presented my work, both individually and with my team, in front of a large board of directors for the multinational company. This included directors for many of the different brands, as well as Ralph Gilles, the global head of design. When receiving comments on my Sojourn branding, he called it “gorgeous, high quality, and dripping with luxury.”
